Terrific Tip Tuesday: Cool Treats at Disneyland

Nothing beats a cool ice cream treat on a hot day at Disneyland.  It's easy to find frozen treat vending carts throughout the park.  These carts sell ice cream sandwiches, frozen bananas, and other summer favorites.  These treats are pretty tasty, but sometimes, they just don't cut it and you need something more substantial.  If you have a hankering for ice cream, it is available at numerous places throughout Disneyland.

is also home to Disneyland's
lockers.
Main Street
The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor is a long-time guest favorite, but often has a very, very long line and no where to sit.  If you simply go out its doors and head across the street toward the Market House and the lockers, you will find the Cone Shop.  It is a window-service ice cream shop and offers limited outdoor seating.  It typically has a MUCH shorter line than the Gibson Girl.

Adventureland
While not technically ice cream, the Dole Whip is a cool favorite any time of the year.  The problem is that there is only one place to get a Dole Whip at Disneyland--at the Tiki Juice Bar at the entrance of Adventureland. The line is often very long; however, you can get a jump on the line for this frosty sensation by lining up inside the Enchanted Tiki Room waiting area instead of the long line that often extends far into Adventureland. Most guests do not know that there are two lines from which the Cast Members serve guests.

Mickey's Toontown
Clarabelle's Frozen Yogurt, located near the gazebo, does NOT offer frozen yogurt as one would assume by the sign.  It sells the same ice cream treats sold at the outdoor vending carts, plus yogurt parfaits, a turkey sandwich, and two different salads.

Frontierland
The Golden Horseshoe theater offers delicious sundaes and ice cream floats, as well as a few regular food items.  Plus, the Golden Horseshoe offers a fabulous show and lots of air conditioned seating inside the theater and outside near the Stage Door Cafe.
